Another fantastic Science Week in Cloonliffen filled with fun investigations and experiments! Well done everyone 🧪👩🏻🔬🧫🧑🏿🔬
1st class joined the Middle Room each day and had great fun with the help our Scientific Sue Kit! We explored magnets with some ‘magic’ tricks making flowers appear and dragons fly ! We also showed how electricity flows around a circuit with our cosmic ball and had fun with forces blowing up our balloons and having balloon races 🎈🎈
Finally we explored how materials can change. We turned milk into a solid bone with the help of some vinegar and had some very messy fun by adding water to our super absorbent powder!
The Senior Room conducted investigations to show the effects different liquids have on our teeth 🦷. The put raw eggs into water, coffee,cola and vinegar to see if the liquids would stain the egg shells. The results were amazing! Johnny is holding the egg that was in the coffee .We don’t want our teeth looking the that!!
The also showed the importance of calcium for healthy bones 🦴. They placed some chicken bones in vinegar to remove the calcium and Kate found they were much easier to break than Kamil’s chicken bones that were not in the vinegar !
