Congratulations to our 12 pupils  who were Confirmed by Archbishop Michael Neary on Tuesday 3rd March.

Well done to Laura and Caoilfhinn, who represented the Lake District Athletic Club at the Connacht Indoor Athletics Championships in Athlone at the weekend.

Great work going on in all the classrooms on this term’s writing genre: Report Writing !

Congratulations to Molly Sheridan on receiving her award at the Mayo Athletics awards at the weekend. We are sure this will be the first of many awards for Molly !

As part of SPHE theme ‘Taking Care of My Body’ 3rd-6th classes took part in a First Aid workshop facilitated by Brian from Defibcare . The workshop allowed the children to practise their bandaging skills, as well as how to manoeuvre people into the recovery position and perform CPR. Thanks to Brian for visiting us and teaching the children these valuable life skills.

We were delighted to welcome past pupils Luke, Gary and Adam back to the school today to show the children the Connacht Minor trophy and the Ted Webb Cup. Congrats to the boys on all they have achieved with Mayo so far. We hope to have them back with even more silverware in the future

November 2019

We are so proud of all the shoe boxes the children have donated to the Team Hope Shoe Box Appeal this year ! We are sure they will make many less fortunate boys and girls very happy this Christmas. Well done everyone !!

Sept 2019

This year we have elected our very first Student Council in the school. The role of the student council is to act as a voice for students to share suggestions on how we can improve school life for everyone. The council is made up of students from 3rd-6th classes who will act as representatives for their classmates in discussions with the staff. We look forward to working with them throughout the year!

Sept 2019
A new Active Flag Committee has also been established with the goal of getting our school ‘more active, more often’. Following on from our first meeting the committee are introducing an ‘Active Break Time’ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At lunch time, on these days, members of the committee will organise and supervise structured play activities in the Junior Yard with an emphasis on fun and participation. Don’t forget our slogan!!

Well done to Niamh and all the Ballinrobe U-12 girls soccer team who represented Mayo in the National Finals at the weekend !

As the youngest student here in Cloonliffen Kody Walsh had the honour of making a donation, on behalf of the school, to Fr.Gilbert before his return to Rwanda. He was delighted to accept the donation towards school supplies for the local children and has promised to send us an update on how the funds were put to use. We wish him all the best in the future !
