November was Friendship / Anti-bullying month in Cloonliffen NS. Through our lessons, artwork & songs the children learned the characteristics of a ‘good friend’ and the importance of accepting and including others.
We also worked on  the theme of bullying through our SPHE lessons and the HSE ‘Headbombz’ programme. The children worked in groups using role play to explore what bullying is , the different types of bullying and what to do if we they are being bullied or witness other being bullied.
We ended the month with some treats for working hard together and some awards for ‘ Random Acts of Kindness’ witnessed by the school community throughout the month. Although Friendship month is over we hope the children keep up the good work for the rest of the year !

Congratulations to Bryan O’Kelly and Rory Vahey, members of the Ballinrobe U-13 team who defeated Belmullet to win the Division 2 County title last month. The boys were lucky enough to have their medals presented to them by Mayo’s, Lee Keegan on Sunday. Well done boys !

BIZ WORLD IRELAND was established in 2011.The workshops delivered by BizWorld help students develop critical thinking, leadership and teamwork skills. The activities offered show students how they can benefit from entrepreneurship, and equip them to become the next generation of innovators. The children in 5th and 6th were thoroughly stimulated by the BizWorld experience. The facilitator, Caroline, managed the children brilliantly and presented the material in such a way that everyone was engaged and on-board with the process. She was able to go up and down to each child's level, which really benefited the learning experience for each individual child. The dragons were very kind to the children and yet they challenged them to think on their feet in a manner that was entirely new. Overall, it was an exceedingly positive experience for the children. Many thanks to BOI for the opportunity!
