We hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Operation Transformation 10@10
The children have been getting active while having fun for 10minutes every day at 10 o clock. They watched the video in the classroom on wet days but also enjoyed getting outside to do the 10@10 on nice days.

Congratulations to our quiz teams who took part in the recent Credit Union quiz in Claremorris. Both teams put in fantastic performances with our senior team of Harry Barker, Ailbhe O’Loughlin, Orna Donnelly and Fionn O’Loughlin finishing in a superb 3rd place overall. Well done to all !!

Congratulations to Luke & Molly Sheridan, Max & Catharine Humphreys, Caoilfhinn Fraser & Fionn Sheridan who represented the Lake District Athletics Club in the recent Mayo Indoor Athletics  Championships. Molly and Catharine won medals in the U-8 relay, Catharine also won bronze in the 300m and Caoilfhinn won silver in the U-12 relay also. Well done to all !!

As part of our efforts to earn our 3rd Green Flag on the theme of water, Mr.Ryder and the Green team recently organised a visit to the school from
‘Inland Fisheries Ireland ‘.
Ronan Cusack and Eamonn Walsh gave a very interesting and informative presentation on the important work of the IFI,  the different types of fish living in our local lakes and rivers and also threats and dangers to this fish life.
The children had lots of questions for Ronan and Eamonn and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, especially the slippery friends that also joined us on the day !!

Hope you enjoy a few pictures of the wonderful show the children put on today.  Many thanks to all who came and we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A wonderful display of our Christmas Art around the school. May we take this opportunity to wish you all a
Merry Christmas !
Nollaig Shona agus Beannachtaí in 2018

November was Friendship / Anti-bullying month in Cloonliffen NS. Through our lessons, artwork & songs the children learned the characteristics of a ‘good friend’ and the importance of accepting and including others.
We also worked on  the theme of bullying through our SPHE lessons and the HSE ‘Headbombz’ programme. The children worked in groups using role play to explore what bullying is , the different types of bullying and what to do if we they are being bullied or witness other being bullied.
We ended the month with some treats for working hard together and some awards for ‘ Random Acts of Kindness’ witnessed by the school community throughout the month. Although Friendship month is over we hope the children keep up the good work for the rest of the year !
